Meet Mary Anne Hardy
Health Care Advocate
I practiced nursing for 19 years before taking time out to raise children. My 8 years as a Nurse Consultant allowed me to work one-on-one with hundreds of clients who had questions about a myriad of health and medical concerns. I provided information and support to help them make informed decisions about their health care. Earlier, as a hospital nurse, I worked with patients who had high-risk and healthy pregnancies, newborns, and adolescents. I most recently worked on medical device safety issues with the MedSun hospital network sponsored by the FDA.
As a nurse, I was always interested in helping patients get and stay healthy through education, prevention, and informed decision-making, believing that clear and easy to understand information and how to use it is key. As a daughter and a mother, I’ve learned first-hand that making healthcare decisions is not always clear-cut or simple, and that things don’t always go as planned.
I became a health advocate because I believe in empowering my clients to make informed decisions about their health care through information that is delivered in clear, understandable language and with knowledge of how the health care system works. I really listen and help guide clients through complicated medical situations, helping everyone communicate clearly to make sure your care is safe and works for you.
